I've been covering Travel related topics online since 1995. Publishing in 1995 both the first online travel magazine TravelASSIST and the first online lodging directory, THE REGISTER. The hotel directory became very profitable and still is today, the magazine on the other hand was launched well ahead of it's time. This was 4-5 years before credit cards were used online and before the value of online advertising was know. I hired writers and photographers, creating original content for the monthly online publication. But I folded the magazine as other areas of the web became more profitable for me.
This site, MurrayOnTravel.com, was launched in March of 1996 with various articles and other content created by me. It ran fine for 12 years offering me a venue to write about various travel destinations and the latest travel information. In early in 2008 I figured it was time to give the site a face lift and have redesigned the interface based on a blog environment using WordPress. In July 2008 I moved the site to TypePad. Hope you enjoy the new version of this site.
