These Santa Fe, New Mexico hotel and resort reviews are the result of overnight visits made in late June, 2012.  I can easily recommend each of these boutique properties. They are all walking distance from the Santa Fe Plaza National Historic Landmark. 

These hotels & resorts vary in price and atmosphere.  As you read these reviews I'm sure you will find one that matches your vacation needs.  Video tours of each property are available on my YouTube Channel.

• La Fonda On The Plaza - A historic hotel and closest to the historic Stata Fe Plaza.

The historic Inn At Loretto is found just 2 blocks from the main plaza of Santa Fe. The adobe structure fits in perfectly with the Northern New Mexico architecture of Santa Fe.

Room #311 is a Deluxe third floor balcony room with anice view.  The bed was very comfortable with smooth, soft and luxurious sheets.  The desk was comfortable to work at.  The room offers plenty of electrical outlets.  It features beautiful artwork on cool dark red colored walls.  It is a bit unusual that my room at the Loretto did not have an in-room safe.

 
A faux fireplace is the centerpiece of the room with the HDTV just above it.  Candles in this non-working fireplace provided a romantic ambiance in the evening.  It should be noted that my June visit was during a very hot period and this 3rd floor, top floor, room was very hot.  I could feel the heat radiating from the ceiling.  The room's air conditioner struggled to keep the room livable.

 
The spacious bath was very nice with attractive fixtures and a large combined shower/bathtub.  Towels are plentiful and luxurious.   Lush bathrobes, ironing board and iron are provided in the closet.  As I relaxed in the bathtub I did notice a annoying buzz coming from the light bulbs in the bathroom.

 A large patio is shared with your neighbors, overlooking trees and greenery.  A small table and chairs are for relaxing and dinning. The patio is shaded in the early morning while sunny in the afternoon.

The large pool has plenty of open space around it for sun worshipers.

I did not eat at the Inn At Loretto restaurant.  A large lounge area is off of the lobby with a fireplace and bar.

 
Artwork abounds both inside the Inn at Loretto and in exterior spaces.  Excellent paintings and large sculptures are impressive.

This has become one of my favorite hotels in Santa Fe.

Located just two blocks from the Plaza of Santa Fe, the Inn of the Governors is a wonderful find.  Its central location is great for exploring the historic district and the pool adds an attraction for families and sun worshipers.

The lobby offers comfortable seating, a concierge and computer access.  A small restaurant and bar is located adjacent but connected to the property.  A nice buffet breakfast in the restaurant was included with my room.  Inns Website

Basic rooms are pretty standard motel room sized.  The rooms are beautifully decorated with items native to the Santa Fe and Northern New Mexico area.  For more info on Santa Fe click here.

Pottery, woven baskets, historic photographs, contemporary Native American art & Spanish inspired metal work.  An interesting collection worthy of a hotel in the old historic district of Santa Fe.

My bed was a little soft but acceptable.  Linens and towels were also acceptable.  Room was very clean.  Plenty of light and comfortable chairs.  The desk was a bit crowded with stuff.  I had to clear most of it to work on the desktop.  The wooden desk chair was a little hard.  WiFi signal was strong and fast.

The bath was small but well equipped, clean and bright.

Pool is just of the lobby and is small but big enough for a refreshing dip on a warm New Mexico day.

Colorful flower boxes line the hotel's handrails and add a splash of color.  The grounds are very well maintained. Unlike many other hotels and inns in the Santa Fe historic area the Inn of the Governors does not have a resort or parking fee.
