Timbuktu. The end of everbody's road. The capital of nowhere. Geograhy's perennial avant-garde and the armchair traveler's inevitable cul-de-sac.

Hotel Palomar Los Angeles / Westwood Review and Photos
August 18, 2010
Hotel Palomar Los Angeles-Westwood is an upscale, stylish hotel located in downtown Westwood that is perfect for a luxurious get away, romantic hideaway or urban adventure. Every Kimpton brand hotel tells a story and Hotel Palomar in Westwood, California tells the story of art in motion pictures.
Nestled among the high rise condos on Wilshire Boulevard, the 4 flags above the valet entrance grab your eye. Upon entering the lobby, one feels the contemporary vibe of old Hollywood meets new glamor. The Palomar is filled with movie art, brimming with style and dedicated to luxury.
The chic atmospheres come with top rate service. The front desk staffs are overly nice and welcoming. Every employee always said hello and asked is there was anything they could help us with. The lobby area is comfortable to lounge in with its double sided fire place, and handsome décor.
Hotel Palomar opened in 2008 and all accommodations are like new, spotless and have contemporary vibe. Above are three images of a suite. The sleeping rooms have premium bedding, comfortable desk areas with ergonomic chairs, in-room safes large enough to accommodate a laptop, complimentary wireless high-speed Internet access, high-definition television and high end bathroom amenities.
The property has a unique, private 40-foot outdoor pool, surrounded by chaise lounges and additional seating near a cozy fireplace. A luscious wall of green bamboo surrounds one side of the lounge area
and modern hanging lanterns on the other.
The Palomar's pool area is decorated with 5 huge mirrors and special red ball lighting features. The luxurious lounge chairs and deep padded deck furniture arranged in cozy sitting areas invite guests to gather and order refreshments from BLVD 16, the hotels on sight restaurant.
Blvd 16 is friendly enough for a casual meal and elegant enough for an intimate, romantic evening. We sat in the lounge and order dessert and coffee. The lounge also offers small plates during the cocktail hour for reasonable prices.
The Hotel Palomar meets the needs of meeting and event planners. Meeting room space is ample with a small computer center for the business traveler. In the Kimpton style, meeting rooms are uniquely named after Film Festivals like the Cannes and Outfest, reinforcing the fact that each property has a theme.
Pet owners will love this property because they welcome all your loved canines at no extra charge.
Fitness center is open 24 hour—ample cardio equipment and free weights. State of the art personal entertainment monitors and complementary head sets.
Hotel Palomar is located conveniently close to the UCLA campus and easy walking distance to Westwood Village business, shopping and entertainment destinations while offering a luxury experience. All costs for room and food at this hotel were paid for by MurrayOnTravel.com. The web site has specials and packages and offers a 10% discount for triple AAA members.
