Saint Martin is an wonderful island located in the northeast Caribbean, and is governed by two governments divided between France and the Netherlands. That is why you may find it called Saint Martin, and Sint Maarten.
The island offers a wide range of hotels and resorts, budget and luxury.
WESTIN ST. MAARTEN DAWN BEACH RESORT - A large luxury resort.
LE PETIT HOTEL - Small hotel on Grand Case Hotel
HOTEL L'ESPLANADE - Considered a "Hidden Gem".
FLAMINGO BEACH RESORT - Condo Hotel
While on the this caribbean island what should you see and do??? The best way to see the 37 suare mile island is to rent a car. Remember the French side (St. Martin) of the island is to the north and the Dutch side (St. Maarten) is to the south. Don't worry about a controled border crossing....it doesn't exsist.
As you might suspect, the northern French side has better shopping and dinning. The Dutch southern side has more nightlife and casinos. Beaches and scenic sights about, ask at your hotel and they will guide you to what interests you.
I suggest you investigate the ferry schedule to nearby islands. Anguilla and St. Barthelemy have great beaches, and Saba island has great hiking and scuba diving spots.
Looking for food??? Well head to the French side of the island and you won't be dissapointed. The cost may run a bit high, but you will love it. La Vie en Rose has views of Marigot's harbor. In Grand Case check out Le Tastevin and La California. Note that paying with credit cards may result in a higher cost.
